A note will go home tomorrow regarding the Halloween Party.  The school wide parade begins at 1:00 and our party will follow that.  In addition, we voted for our classroom cougar paw acknowledgement and we will have an electronics day during the party.  If your child brings an electronic device to school they are responsible for the safety and care of it.

We began using Google Classroom today.  This is a site where I am able to send your child a quiz, math journal entry, etc.  They respond via Google docs and I can comment back to them on the work they submitted.  By typing our responses I am preparing them for the Smarter Balanced test that will be coming up in spring.  They can access this site from home by going to classroom.google.com and logging in with their school email address and password.  You may want to check this out.

We are going on our field trip to Heckrodt Nature Center tomorrow, rain or shine.  Unfortunately there is currently an 80% chance of rain forecast for tomorrow.  Please have your child dress for the weather.  There are no umbrellas allowed.  If your child has not returned their permission slip and payment, they must do so by tomorrow when they enter the classroom or they will spend the morning with Mr. Viotto.  There are no phone calls being made.

We are beginning 2 digit by 1 digit multiplication tomorrow.  We will begin by using the area model method.  Here is a you-tube link of a teacher doing the area model method.  I hope this helps you understand the procedure and you are able to answer questions your child may have when they are doing their homework;
