The Acknowledgement Pizza Party was scheduled for tomorrow, so it will be rescheduled.
MAP Testing has been rescheduled. We will have MAP Reading Wednesday afternoon and MAP Math on Friday afternoon. Please make sure that your child is well rested and has a healthy breakfast and lunch so that they can do their best on the test.

MAP testing will begin next week. We will have Math on Friday afternoon. Please make sure that your child gets plenty of rest and has a healthy lunch so that they will do their best on the test.
Today was the last day that Mrs. Yang, the student teacher, was with us.

Dreambox was introduced to the class today. Students who had headphones or earbuds were allowed to play. Your child can also access their account under the Parent/Student Link on the Menasha Home Page. A letter went home giving you further information.

It is nice to be back at school and teaching again this week.
A note went home today regarding the pizza party acknowledgement. If your child has any missing work, as of last night, there is a list of the assignments attached to the letter. I will not know if they turned in Homework/Remembering 4-5, last night's homework, until I check work this evening.
We will begin using a computer program called Dreambox during Math workshop and PIE time. Your child will need to bring headphones or earbuds that they can leave at school to use this program. The sound is an important part of the program and it would be too confusing not to have volume. Information will be sent home about Dreambox as students will be able to play to games from home. We are hoping to fit in a short presentation about DreamBox during Math night.

Semester ends on Friday, January 24. All missing work needs to be turned in by Monday, January 20, at the latest if your child would like to receive a grade for it. Since the work is skill-building and they will need to know the skills for this year and beyond, they will still be required to do any missing work, even after January 20.

Writing - we are beginning a biography study. Your child will be checking out a biography in the library tomorrow, collecting facts about their famous person, making a timeline and then writing a paper. Due to the size of the timeline and graphic organizer, I am not able to link it to my webpage. This unit should take 2 - 3 weeks depending on the size of the boo, your child checks out.
