A note went home today regarding the acknowledgement for our 200 Class Cougar Paws.  We will spend the last part of Wednesday watching "Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.'  Your child may bring a snack and drink for themselves if they wish to have during the movie.

Due to our three day week, we will not have spelling.

Congratulations to the Menasha Blue Jays on their win over Homestead on Saturday.  If your child will be gone on Friday because of the game, make sure that they have a pre-planned absence form filled out and returned to the office ASAP.

We will begin division tomorrow.  One of the methods I will teach is the area model method.  Here is a link to a video showing how this method works.

We are beginning division next week.  I will teach two methods - the area model method and the short cut method.  I will try to find a video on the area model method to post next week on the blog so that you will become familiar with it as well.  But it is so important that your child know their multiplication facts.  The most common error I am seeing is mistakes made with facts.  Thank you to those who continue to practice their flashcards nightly.

The class did a terrific job at the Veteran's Day Assembly.  They made Clovis proud and made the veterans very happy.

Tomorrow is an Early Dismissal day.  Students will be released at 12:00. 

Tomorrow morning is the absolute last chance to sign up for Math night.  The final numbers need to be counted and pizza needs to be ordered.

A note went home today regarding Math night.  Please return this note to school, if you plan on attending.  4th grade will be discussing the Smarter Balanced test and how everyone plays a part in preparing our students.  Dinner will be provided.

We took the Science portion of the WKCE test today.  We will take the Social Studies test tomorrow.  The reading and math portions will now be part of the Smarter Balanced test that we will take in the spring.  Feel free to look up released items of this new test by Googling Smarter Balanced released items.  You will see a difference in the expectations.  We are using Google Classroom to answer math journals and to write some Reading responses to help prepare us for the new testing format.

Tomorrow is Hats on For Veterans.  For a $1 donation to Old Glory Honor Flights, your child may wear a hat in school for the entire day.

The Fourth Grade will take the WKCE test for Science and Social Studies this week.  Our class will be taking the test on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon.  Please make sure that your child is well rested so that they can do their best.

Switch Witch runs this entire week,  Your child can trade in candy for a book mark or a pencil.

Wednesday is late start.

Thursday is Opera for Kids starting at 9:30.

Please have your child turn in their October Reading Minutes, if they haven't done so already.
