Happy Halloween

There should not be any homework this evening.  They were given plenty of time in class to do Math Fluency Check 4

Tomorrow is the Halloween parade starting at 1:00.  If your child is going to wear a costume, please have them bring it to school in a bag or box.  They will be changing into their costume after lunch.

Anyone who has read their 400 minutes for October may turn in their reading calendars tomorrow, as I do not expect reading to be done on Halloween.

If your child would like, they may bring a snack to share after the Halloween parade.

WKCE testing will be starting on Monday, November 5 and run through Tuesday, November 13.

Two tickets for a Magic Show this weekend went home. I don't know anything about the show, other than the tickets were donated.

Tomorrow is the Leadership Club Hat Day fundraiser for Old Glory Honor Flights.  For $1 your child may wear a hat for the day. All money donated will be given to the veterans during our assmebly on Friday, November 9.

We will not be having a large party on Halloween but if your child would like to bring a snack to share with the class on Wednesday, they may.

Homework:

Language - Legends were due today. Over half the class did not have them finished.  If your child did not have their lengend done, they will be staying in for recess until it it finished.  They need to bring the story home to complete.

Remember to be at school by 6:30 tomorrow, pack a lunch and dress for the weather - it is predicted to be in the 70s.  If your child has a Clovis shirt please have them wear it or they will be provided one to wear over their shirt.   We will begin our day inside the Capital Building and then proceed to the zoo.  If weather permits, we will eat outside at the picnic area at the Zoo.

There is no school on Thursday and Friday.

Tomorrow morning is our field trip to Heckrodt Nature Center. We will be going rain or shine and be outside most of the morning.  We will be walking to and from the Nature Center also.  We will return in time for lunch.

Book Orders went home today. They are due next Tuesday, October 23, if you are interested in ordering anything.  Also, information about a free program went home.  Scholastic Book Club will donate books to students in need, just by having your child read their 20 minutes nightly.  There is a competition between dog lovers and cat lovers.  So far, more people in the class are reading in support of the dogs.

I apologize for the confusion with yesterday's Madison field trip pack.  When I was printing the packet, last year's letter accidentally got attached.  I am sending home a letter today clarifying the dates of each field trip and a permission slip. If you have already filled out a permission slip on the chaperone form, you do not have to fill out another one.  Again, I apologize for the mistake.
