Just a reminder that if you would like your child to have a school lunch for Heritage Hills the form must be returned by tomorrow.  There will NOT be food to purchase at Heritage Hills, so your child must bring a lunch.

Great news - tomorrow is a special discount day and hot dogs and small sodas will be $1 each at the Milwaukee Brewers Game.

Wednesday will be our field trip to the Brewers Game.  Please remember that you will need to make arrangements for getting your child home after the trip as we will be arriving back sometime around 5 - 5:15

Speeches went great today.  The speeches will continue on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon this week and next Tuesday as well.

There is no school on Friday because of not needing a snow day.

What a great day for a Track and Field Meet.  Everyone did a wonderful job and showed great sportsmanship.

Spelling words went home yesterday for the annual 4th grade Spelling Bee.  The top 5 spellers in my class will compete against the other fourth grade top finishers.  My classroom bee will be on Tuesday, May 28.  The Championship Bee will be on June 10.

Our end of the year auction will be held Wednesday, June 5.  Students are asked to bring 2 to 3 gently used items that they no longer use at home.  Please do not buy anything for the auction.  More information will be sent home at a later date.

MAP Math will be held Friday morning.  Please make sure that your child has enough sleep.

Math - Comparing fractions worksheet.  Students must show their work when making fractions of common denominators or they paper will be handed back and considered late.  Students were reminded of this numerous times throughout the day.

A note went home today indicating the date that your child picked to do their demonstration speech.  Please check this note, as your child is responsible for having all necessary materials and being prepared to give their speech that day.  Please have them practice at home, as much as they are able, so they will feel more comfortable in front of the class. 

Tomorrow is the City Wide Track Meet.  Please have your child wear a blue Clovis Cougar Shirt.  If they don't have one, one will be provided for them to wear over their clothes.  Join us, if you are able.  The meet starts at 9:00 at Calder Stadium.

We began talking about our 4th grade Demonstration Speeches today.  Your child needs to talk to you about an idea they are interested in as all materials for the speech need to be supplied by your child.  Your child has had the opportunity to watch speeches given by Mr. Viotto's students and see some examples of speeches today.  They will be given class time this week to work on the speeches but in order to feel comfortable in front of the class it is important that they practice at home.  We will begin our speeches next and tomorrow your child will be given the opportunity to pick a date - Monday, May 20, Tuesday May 21, Thursday, May 23, or Tuesday, May 28.  The speeches will be given during our writing time, 1:25 - 2:10.  You are invited to come and watch/video tape your child if you would like.  A letter will be going home once all students have had the opportunity to select a speech time.

Wednesday will be the City Wide Track Meet.  Students will be required to wear a blue Clovis Grove T-shirt.  If your child does not have one, a shirt will be provided for them to wear in the morning.

We will be taking the MAP Math test on Friday morning.  Please make sure that your child has enough sleep.
