May Reading Minutes are due on Monday.

Our classroom spelling bee is Monday.

Permission Slips for the Tom's Acknowledgement went home today.  Students were reminded that the expectations for the acknowledgement are still in place until the time we leave to walk to Tom's.  Bringing back a permission slip is not an automatic go - students still need to follow and meet expectations.

Classroom auction is on Friday. As you are spring cleaning this weekend, please look for any items that you would be willing to donate.  Thank you to the families who have already donated.

Tomorrow is the Heritage Hills Field Trip.  Students who have not ordered a school lunch, need to pack their own.  There is no food to buy at the park.  Everything in the lunch needs to be recycled or thrown out.  Students do NOT need money for anything - we will not be visiting the gift shop and we will not be using the soda machines.  Also no electronics.  It is predicted to be a great weather day.  Please have your child dress for the day.  We will be spending a considerable amount of time outdoors.

We have been working on our Demonstration Speeches.  Hopefully your child has been talking to you about this speech - your child is responsible for bringing in all necessary materials for the speech.  Your child picked a slot for their speech today.  I will get the schedule typed up and to you in the next few days.

A note came home today about the end-of-the-year auction.  I appreciate your generosity for any items you are able to donate.

We are beginning to convert fractions with unlike denominators into fraction with like denominators.  This is tricky, especially for students who don't know their multiplication facts.  Fifth grade begins the year with a fractions unit.  I strongly encourage students who don't know their facts to spend some time with summer working on them.. There are great websites with interactive flashcards, if you Google it.

Wednesday is the Field Trip to the Milwaukee Brewers game.  Students are allowed to buy something from the concession stands, if you would like to send money, but it is not allowed for them to buy any souvenirs.  Remember to pack your child a lunch, if they are not purchasing one from the school or concession stands.  Also, we will be home between 5:30 - 5:45, so please arrange a way home for your child.  Students may wear baseball shirts or a Clovis Cougar shirt. If they do not wear either, a Clovis Cougar shirt will be provided for them to borrow.
