We will be having a Winter Party next Friday afternoon. Your child may bring a treat, if they wish. Due to food allergies please do not send anything with beans or blueberries.
My goal is not have all missing assignments turned in before break. In the next week, I will be sending out e-mails if your child has any missing assignments.

School policy determines that indoor recess will be held if the temperature or wind chill is 0 or below. Please make sure that your child is dressing for the weather because they are still outside getting to and from cars and buses.

Writing - We spent last week researching the parts of a plant and finding an example, fact and benefit for each part. We also cited our resources. Your child will take their research findings and write a short paper about what they learned. They will have the remainder of the week to revise, edit and publish this paper. They may type or write their final copy. Published copies are due Friday.

Students will be meeting in Room 137 at the high school for the Holiday Concert this evening. The concert starts at 6:00 and students should arrive at 5:40. After seeing practice today, it's going to be an amazing concert.

Homework/Remembering 3-4. We are beginning to use the digit-by-digit method for division. This is the method that you probably use. I have told students they MUST do their division using graph paper so that everything lines up and there is less chance of an error. I put a piece of graph paper in all mailboxes today. If your child runs out of room on the graph paper, you can simply take a piece of notebook paper, turn in sideways and use that to line up all the digits. You can also find graph paper at websites such as math-drills.com
Remember if your child's solar system project is still in the library, please make arrangements to take it home by Friday.

A note went home today regarding the Holiday Concert being held on Thursday. Students should report to Room 137 at Menasha High School at 5:40. The concert will begin at 6:00.
We had a guest speaker from the Winnebago County Farm2School program. She spoke about parts of a plant and what we eat from each part. We are going to do a short research project from the information that she gave us to tie her presentation to our benchmarks. She will be coming four more times during the school year.
Please turn in November Reading Minutes, if you have not already done so.
Solar System projects have been graded and are being sent home. If your child has an extremely large project Mr. Viotto is asking that you make arrangements to pick it up by Friday in the library.
