We began talking about our 4th grade Demonstration Speeches today. Your child needs to talk to you about an idea they are interested in as all materials for the speech need to be supplied by your child. Your child has had the opportunity to watch speeches given by Mr. Viotto's students and see some examples of speeches today. They will be given class time this week to work on the speeches but in order to feel comfortable in front of the class it is important that they practice at home. We will begin our speeches next and tomorrow your child will be given the opportunity to pick a date - Monday, May 20, Tuesday May 21, Thursday, May 23, or Tuesday, May 28. The speeches will be given during our writing time, 1:25 - 2:10. You are invited to come and watch/video tape your child if you would like. A letter will be going home once all students have had the opportunity to select a speech time.
Wednesday will be the City Wide Track Meet. Students will be required to wear a blue Clovis Grove T-shirt. If your child does not have one, a shirt will be provided for them to wear in the morning.
We will be taking the MAP Math test on Friday morning. Please make sure that your child has enough sleep.
